Message I purchased a new part and installed it on spent more then a full day on the R&R. The part did not work as expected. Because of the complex installation, I had quite a few things to troubleshoot when the car did not work right after getting it all together.

For a while I thought z was seriously damaged. After pretty much giving up, i started trying crazy stuff.

finally found the solution: The vendor gave me the wrong product. The product is labeled/billed as one thing and clearly is another. Knowing what i know now, there is still absolutely no way I could have known before installing the parts.

What would you expect from the vendor in compensation? just sending the proper part really doesn't seem fair since their mistake has cost me so much time and energy, and is going to make me go through a lot more.

Does it seem fair to demand that the vendor at least ship the proper parts to me and pay for installation?

vendors, feel free to let me know how you would handle the situation.
